Mina's Big Christmas

Mina is a tiny doll. She is 5 inches high. She thinks she is regular sized. She thinks she lives in a giant sized world. I guess she does. And she enjoys it.
This was her first Christmas. She met another doll online and she became her first friend. Her name is Button. Earlier Button had sent her a beautiful Christmas card.
This year, they were each others Christmas Swap buddies. Mina had never had a Christmas before and she was excited. She asked Mommy to help her get gifts for Button. After watching Mommy use the Magic Card though, she started getting ghe gifts herself. Boy was that fun! Mina enjoyed it when the gifts for Button came in the mail. Mommy wrote the Christmas card. But Mina did the rest. She chose the perfect sized box.
She carefully wrapped each gift.
Then she helped Mommy pack the box.
She bounced Button a Christmas note on the computer (that's the only way she could send a message, was bouncing on the keyboard). When everything was ready, she gave the box to Mommy who printed the label. The box was ready to go. In the meantime, it was Christmas. Mina woke on that special morning. She yadmired the sparkling tree.
Mommy put a Santa hat on her head. It was her first one ever.
Adjusting her hat, she let Mommy lift her on to the dining room table where they always have breakfast together. But instead of seeing Mommy's coffee or a muffin, she saw... gifts! And they were Mina-sized! How exciting! Mommy took pictures of her with her packages and then allowed her to open them. She wanted to open the prettiest one first.
It had a big bow on it. Mina lovingly opened the beautiful box. There was something soft inside. She took it out. It was large. It was... her very own Friendship Blanket!
It was handmade just like Mommy's. And colorful, just like Mommy's. But different. And just for her!  Inside was a note from Button saying she'd made it herself. Oh it truly was the best gift ever! Mina spread the blanket where she had been sitting and continued to open her presents. The next gift held a bag from a bookshop.
There were two books in it. A Harry Potter book and a book about mermaids. Two of Mina's favorite subjects! She couldn't wait to read them! Next she opened the long flat box. Wow, there were so many hair clips in there! Now Mina was known to be a little over enthusiastic about things sometimes. And this was no different. She grabbed a bunch of hairclips and proceeded to put them all in her hair.
"Do I look beautiful, Mommy?" Mommy gave a light chuckle. "Yes, Mina, you look beautiful. But perhaps you need a little help." She replaced the several clips with one clip holding up the side of Mina's hair. MIna was beaming. She patted her beautiful hair. As she did this, Mina opened her last box. Wow, goodies! Or as Mommy calls them for the doggies... noms. So many noms and they were all for her.
Mom helped her take her very first candy cane.
And she was allowed one piece of chocolate.
Only one piece. Mommy didn't want her swinging from the tree later.
Mina stood and thoughtfully licked the candy cane. It was yummy. Suddenly her face lit up. Carefully putting her candy cane down, she jumped off the table, onto Mommy's lap and onto the floor running for the bedroom. "I'll be right back!" She squeaked. It took about a half hour for her to get back. The bedroom isn't far, but she only has tiny legs. She was pulling a very confused Lily by the hand. Mommy put them on the table and watched them. Mina made Lily sit down. She rummaged through her gifts, found the right one and picking up her candy cane again, sat with Lily and pulled the Friendship Blanket over their legs. She handed Lily the gift she had searched for, the other candy cane, and gave it to her.
She explained about the Friendship Blanket. It was obvious Lily was very proud to be the first doll in the Friendship Blanket. And Mina shared her candy cane. She kissed Mina on the head.
Later, after the last lick and crunch of the candy canes, the two of them moved to the couch. Grabbing the remote, they snuggled under the Friendship Blanket (on top of Mommy's Friendship Blanket!) and watched Christmas movies.
Best. Christmas. Ever!
