The New Room

Daddy had finished the bedroom.  There was new paint on the ceiling and walls, a new floor, and he was building new furniture.  Mommy was over the moon.  This beachside type room is the room she'd been dreaming about since she was a little girl.  Finally her dream was coming true, thanks to Daddy.

The time came to show the girls.  She brought everyone in.  Everyone had been living on the couch in a pile.  One by one, Mommy lifted them, gave them a hug and a kiss, brushed their hair and steered them toward the bedroom.

Each doll had a different response.

Aria, who was barefoot, walked along the new floor, feeling the grain of the wood under her toes.  She was happy the carpet was gone.  She felt that with this floor maybe she wouldn't fall over so much.

Sophie liked the changes to the room.  She walked around and quickly discovered the new bed Mommy had bought for TJ, the little Pom.  She bounced on it, checking it's cushiness.  Grabbing Mommy's Kindle, she plopped down on TJ's bed and continued with the book she was reading.

Sonata, the Ocean Girl, loved the room which she felt was designed just for her.  Thrilled with the color, she proceeded to try to blend in with the wall.

'You can't see me!' she cried from across the room.

'Yes I can,' mumbled Sophie from TJ's bed nearby.

Melody had fun opening and closing the drawers to the new dresser.  Admiring the nice big  drawer, Mommy caught her before she climbed in.

Andi ooh'd and ahh'd about the room.  Then she went to check the blankets where Isabelle and Paddington sleep to make sure they were doggie friendly and cozy.  She was the resident doggie caregiver.  After Mommy and Daddy of course.

After checking out the new room, Louisa sat on Max's ramp, waiting to go to bed.  She approved of the new room but she was sleepy.

The display dolls, went to their shelf.  They liked standing in front of the new soft sand colored curtains.

Lyra put a tiny horse on Mommy's shelf.  She said she wanted to help put the horses back when Mommy was ready. She liked that her bow matched the wall.

Alex and Rhapsody hadn't really been here long enough to get used to the old room.  They said it was nice though and climbed the shelf to go stand in their spots.  When Rhapsody arrived at the top, she said hello to their neighbors and they had a little chat. They were all happy to be back on their shelves.

Alex stopped on the way up to say hello and give the Alpacas a little pat.  She was always amazed at how soft they were.  She said hello to little Blossom who had arrived the day before and was settling in with her family.

Soon the dolls were all in their spots.  When Mommy came in to check on them, they were all settled.  Mommy walked around the room and touched the hand of each doll to welcome them back.

Later when Mommy was lying in bed, she gazed around the room at the sleeping dolls.  This was perfect, she thought.  Everyone was comfy and settled.  And with TJ snoring in his new bed at her side, she soon fell asleep.

The End.
